Who we are
Converge Social ("Converge," "we," "us") operates a taste-powered social discovery network that helps you find places and people in your city. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — the phone number or Google account you use to sign in, your handle, and profile details you add.
- Taste and activity data — the spots you save, boards you create, swipes, votes, survey answers, and outing feedback. This is the behavioral signal that powers your recommendations.
- Location — the city you select and, with your permission, approximate location used to surface nearby places. You can decline location and still use Converge.
- Device and usage data — basic analytics about how you use the app, device type, and push-notification tokens if you opt in.
How we use your information
- To build and sharpen your taste profile and generate personalized recommendations and plans.
- To surface people whose taste is similar to yours and show activity from people you follow.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the product.
- To send notifications you've opted into. You can turn these off at any time.
What's public
Your profile, public boards, and saves are visible to others by design — that's how discovery works. You control which boards are public, and you can make a board private at any time. We do not display your phone number or email to other users.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Converge (such as hosting and analytics) under agreements that limit their use of it, or when required by law. Venue and event details shown in the app come from third-party data sources and are not derived from your personal information.
Your choices
- Edit your profile and board privacy from your account settings.
- Manage notification preferences at any time.
- Request access to or deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile, boards, saves, and taste data.
Data retention and security
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we apply reasonable safeguards to protect it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit access and protect data in transit and at rest.
Age
Converge is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
